Denny Prokopos is the first 10th Planet Black Belt
Denny won first place at Jiu Jitsu No Gi nationals at brown belt Featherweight 149lbs this past weekend. He won my first match by advantage and the second by injury default, the guy didn’t want to fight me. This is Denny’s Third Major title and was awarded the most prestigious award possible, the first official 10th Planet Black Belt.

AWESOME! From Canada and I had the great fortune to spend three hours training with Denny and his crew (Travis, etc…) Awesome group of guys and Denny is one hell of a great guy! All the best and I hope I can have the chance to train with him again sometime.
It’s all good for Denny, but I can’t believe that he was the first Black Belt from Eddie!?!? How could he pass up Brent, Alder or Einstein?

Someone has to be first, Tux! Sometime (probably soonish) all the senior belts will get their black. For sure.
How could he pass up everyone else? The others are all rad, there’s no question, but who else has won as many major titles? Handing out your first black belt is definitely a bigger deal than handing out your tenth black belt; seems like you’d wait for a really good reason-like someone winning multiple major comps. Still, I agree, several other deserving personalities will probably upgrade soon. Congrats Denny!
Let’s not forget to also congratulate Steven Moreno, who just doubled his sales of Black 10th Planet shirts overnight.
