Free Lockdown Seminar @ 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu, Van Nuys, CA
April 10th, 2014 In 10th Planet Van Nuys, Seminars | Comments OffAt Metamoris 3, the whole world watched as Eddie Bravo dominated Royler Gracie using proprietary 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu techniques, specifically the Lockdown. In the match, Eddie was able to control, sweep, and pass Royler’s guard, something he wasn’t able to do the first time they competed. He almost submitted Gracie for the second time, but Royler was tough, and refused to tap even though his knee nearly exploded from “The Vaporizer.” At the end of the day, the match will go down in Jiu Jitsu history as one of the biggest, most anticipated, and most exciting grappling matches of all time.
With all the interest in 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu, specifically the Lockdown, I wanted to do something as a show of good faith for the BJJ community. Â I’ve been practicing the 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu System for nearly 10 years, and I’m in a unique position to be able to share my knowledge.
That said, 10th Planet Van Nuys is proud to offer a FREE, one time, very special event. We are going to Unlock the Secrets of the Lockdown!!!. This won’t be broadcasted, and it won’t be taped, the only way to be a part of it, is to be there live in person, so don’t miss out!
In this seminar, I’ll be breaking down the little known details that you have never seen before. You may think you’re familiar with the Lockdown, there’s information out there about it. The difference is, I’ve dedicated my entire life mastering the system, and I’ve had the privilege to have learned it directly from the source. Don’t be fooled by cheap imitations and johnny come latelys. I’ve logged tens of thousands of hours studying, training, and teaching these techniques over the years. I know how this game works inside and out.
The Lockdown isn’t just a bunch of random moves, It utilizes a unique philosophy. It’s creative, and out of the box. Just when you thought you understood it, you realize how intricate it can be.  You’ll learn the system of entries, controls, defenses, sweeps, counters, recoveries, transitions, and submissions,

Denny’s Bio
Denny Prokopos was born in San Francisco around 1988. He was interested in Pro Wrestling as a child, and it was looking for Pro Wrestling tapes at a video store that he found out about the UFC. He bought a few tapes of the fighting organization’s first tournaments at the store and as he saw the footage he was amazed by Royce Gracie’s prowess inside the cage. He was so fascinated by the Gracie Jiu Jitsu style that he managed to convince his parents to let him train Jiu Jitsu (who vehemently opposed to it in the beginning). He was 12 years old when he started and his first coach was Charles Gracie.
As Denny got more involved with Jiu Jitsu, he started preferring the Nogi aspect of the game; this was when he sought out Eddie Bravo for private classes in Nogi. Eddie at the time had already made a name for himself in the Nogi community and was a great believer of the benefits of training without the kimono. Denny ended up leaving his previous instructor and turning his full attention to Eddie Bravo’s way of thought and method, he was around 16 at the time.
In highschool Denny Prokopos also added wrestling to his resume, competing all throughout secondary School with the exception of the last year due to a bad injury that prevented him from training. He ended up quitting the academic life to focus solely on Jiu Jitsu training and competition, that hard work and dedication paid off with several important victories at a national and international stage, culminating with his black belt award in 2009. In that same year he was part of the American National Team at the FILA Grappling Championship, being coached by Ricardo Liborio in preparation for the tournament (a competition he won), he has also worked extensively with Jake Shields.

10th Planet San Francisco – Adam “Big Red” Sachnoff – ADCC
December 12th, 2012 In Tournaments | Comments OffIf you haven’t heard, maybe you’ve been under a rock for a while, so here it is. THIS DOOD IS LEGIT. Adam “Big Red” Sachnoff has been making some big waves as of late. I don’t usually like talking about “the haters” but not all the 10th Planet detractors can STFU, you now have that 10th Planet guy that one something “significant.” Like anything, things take time. It takes time for new schools to start producing winners, if it didn’t, you’d see a world champion at every school. The truth is, most schools don’t produce champions. Only the extremely special ones do, and out of those, even less produce multiple champions.
I have to give Props to Prokopos! Denny has been doing a great job up in SF. His team is talented, most people that come out of there are good. Expect to see more good stuff from his school. I think with teams like this leading the charge, we’ll see more and more of this from 10th Planet.
10th Planet SF’s Adam Sachnoff is going to adcc in 2013. Winning the finals of the 2012 ADCC NA trials with a gogoplata against 50/50 black belt Brandon Raedy. He wins most of his matches by submission!

Eddie Bravo Has Fucked Coach Alder Over!!!!
November 21st, 2012 In MMA | Comments OffOk, well this title is a bit dramatic, but I wanted to let you know that the new Mastering the Twister” DVD is out. You may be asking yourself, well why does that fuck you over Alder? We’ll I’ve made a career on beating people up with the twister, and now you get to see all of the secrets in this DVD. This is the video counter part to the book that was released a few years ago. I suggest if you liked that, definitely pick up the DVD. You’ll be able to see how everything flows together, and the details that you couldn’t pick up from just looking at pictures on a page.
My students might be thinking, “HA, I’ve got you now!” but I say, you need to be putting in mad reps if you want to catch up with me. I will however have to work harder now to get the Twister, but I guess I had it pretty good for a long time. Also, I will admit, it is going to bring quite a bit of attention to a move that until now, was kind of a sleeper in bjj. It was popular for a while, but then people kind of forgot about it. Now, most people usually equate 10th Planet with rubber guard. When I think of it, I think twister, it just works into my game better.
You might be asking yourself who’s this Alder character, and why should I care what you say. Fair enough, but if you see UFC guys like the Korean Zombie, Vinny Magalheas and Alan Belcher all praising this move, then maybe that’ll add more weight to it.
