Eddie Bravo Has Fucked Coach Alder Over!!!!

November 21st, 2012 In MMA | Comments Off

Ok, well this title is a bit dramatic, but I wanted to let you know that the new Mastering the Twister” DVD is out. You may be asking yourself, well why does that fuck you over Alder? We’ll I’ve made a career on beating people up with the twister, and now you get to see all of the secrets in this DVD. This is the video counter part to the book that was released a few years ago. I suggest if you liked that, definitely pick up the DVD. You’ll be able to see how everything flows together, and the details that you couldn’t pick up from just looking at pictures on a page.

My students might be thinking, “HA, I’ve got you now!” but I say, you need to be putting in mad reps if you want to catch up with me. I will however have to work harder now to get the Twister, but I guess I had it pretty good for a long time. Also, I will admit, it is going to bring quite a bit of attention to a move that until now, was kind of a sleeper in bjj. It was popular for a while, but then people kind of forgot about it. Now, most people usually equate 10th Planet with rubber guard. When I think of it, I think twister, it just works into my game better.

You might be asking yourself who’s this Alder character, and why should I care what you say. Fair enough, but if you see UFC guys like the Korean Zombie, Vinny Magalheas and Alan Belcher all praising this move, then maybe that’ll add more weight to it.

The Korean Zombie Wins Submission of the Year with, 10th Planet Signature Move, the Twister!!!

December 30th, 2011 In MMA, News | Comments Off

It took maneuver never before seen at the highest level of mixed martial arts to snatch accolades for 2011′s top submission. Mere hours after Richard Hale locked up a flashy and rare inverted triangle in Bellator Fighting Championships on March 26, Chan Sung “Korean Zombie” Jung one-upped him in the Ultimate Fighting Championship by wrapping up fellow featherweight Leonard Garcia with a move called the twister in mixed martial arts and jiu-jitsu. The spine-wrenching hold forces the target’s neck one way with the hands and arms while using the legs to move his lower body in the other direction to sharply torque the torso.

10th Planet Jiu-jitsu is a living system of jiu-jitsu developed by Eddie Bravo that continues to evolve as new methods are introduced and old techniques continue to be refined. The result is a body of moves that have been proven to work on the mats, in the streets, and even in the Octagon. So while Eddie Bravo’s Twister and Rubber Guard sequences remain core aspects of the 10th Planet system of Jiu-jitsu, the system has many faces, with cutting edge techniques being developed, tested, and assimilated virtually every day. This DVD showcases three of Eddie Bravo’s most adept students and offers detailed step-by-step instruction on some of the most creative, effective, and dangerous grappling moves on this or any other planet!
Instruction provided by:
Scottie Epstein, 10th Planet black belt : There’s a reason that Chuck Lidell asked Scottie “Einstein” Epstein to serve as his team’s jiu-jitsu coach on Season 11 of The Ultimate Fighter. That’s because Scottie, a 10th Planet student since day one, arguably knows the 10th Planet system better than anyone other than Eddie Bravo himself . Scottie has proved the effectiveness of the system at every level of competition with a 4-0 MMA (including the TAPOUT show) record and numerous grappling medals with the majority of wins by submission.
Sean Bollinger, 10th Planet black belt, head instructor at 10th Planet Riverside. Sean developed the “double bagger” aspect of the 10th Planet system, a highly effective variation of rubber guard that requires crazy flexibility but offers superior control and high percentage submissions. Bollinger gives step-by-step instructions on the double bagger and more.

Denny Propokos, 10th Planet black belt, head instructor of 10th Planet San Francisco. Denny was the first to receive a blackbelt in the 10th planet system under Eddie Bravo and holds numerous grappling titles, including a gold medal at the FILA 2010 Grappling World Championships and the 2008 Nogi Worlds. Denny turns to his strong wrestling background for the moves he demonstrates here.

There Can Only Be One: Denny”300″ Prokopos

March 18th, 2010 In Interviews | 1 Comment

Denny “300″ Prokopos will be a part of Jiu Jitsu history for a long time. He is the first person awarded a Black belt by Eddie Bravo. When Eddie first started teaching the Rubber Guard people were writing it off. They said it was not very effective or practical. Nevertheless Eddie Bravo won over a lot of students across the planet. Many are highly skilled. Many medal in various tournaments. Yet one proud Greek student, Denny “300″ Prokopos soaked up the game at an insane pace. He moved ahead with a work ethic thats hard to match. At the end of the day, Eddie Bravo could only award ONE man the first Black Belt in his system. This is his story.
