Too lose – not good control. He doesn’t seem to know what to do with his hands. He even uses the wrong hand for the calf crank (you can get cought in an armbar. Doesn’t use the other foot for more pressure etc… But we were asked to vote for the twister. Lots of time to escape until (not) establishing basebal bat control. No “rock to two” and the s-grip is not at the temple of the head. It’s too low, too. At first I wanted to give 3 pts max. But I think a 2 is fair enough.

I give it a zero. I’d never get caught in that twister. Furthermore, that twister roll would end up getting reversed ’cause his right knee is too far from the left hip. It’s one of those moves where if anything goes wrong, everything goes wrong. Can’t skip a detail in this one. I’ve missed the twister roll more times than I can count with MUCH better technique than this guy.

    Okay, that was too harsh.

What´s your rate about it 10thpjj instructors?

  4. Ari Bolden says:

Well, if we are going by 10th Planet Twister standards, this barely get’s the room shaking.

You can always tell when a 10th Planet Instructor (or student) has his mark on a twister because we follow Eddie’s teaching method.

    -open the leg up first
    -establish lockdown
    -fishnet or proper ankle grab
-proper truck control (monkey grip on the feet)
    -proper snatch (under/over trap)
    -baseball bat control

    You get the idea.

My 2 cents….but hey, what do I know…I am still learning as well 😉

You cranked the calf with the wrong hand, you would have got arm bared and when you let go of the foot to transition to the top – that was a no no, you have to either have hold of the foot or hold of the arm. Your grip to pull the twister was too low as well, you need to S-grip above the ear with your bottom hand palm out.
