10th Planet Rubber Guard Counter: The Coat Hanger
I’m not going to go too deep into this. I see too many glaring issues. This counter might work on a parallel universe’s rubber guard. It might even work on Robert Drysdale’s rubber guard. But, I’m not certain it would work quite as well against an opponent who performs rubber guard correctly though.

Hey Dave! It was really great seeing you at the gym today. Have a great summer, K.I.T.
Let’s map out our professional wrestling/dark planet catch wrestling for next week. Lemme know what days you’re gonna be around.
Posted for Dave…
this video is stupid as well ( the counter to the rubber guard). first off, the guy on the bottom knows nothing about breaking someones posture. Look at the way he holds his rubber guard… WRONG! second of all he goes for the wrong arm more than once… WRONG! this video shows a counter to a down syndrome guard. This isnt a rubber guard . The guard this guy shows looks like a kid with down syndrome would come up with.
^^^ lol ^^^
I’ll say this, the guy showing the technique is Karl Tanswell, a blackbelt under Matt Thornton at SBGi (straightblastgym.com) at their UK gym. He is amazingly good and tapped Eddie out several times in a row as a brown belt. Having said that, I train at SBGi headquarters and am the only guy who really works the 10th Planet system. When all the guys learned this, got excited about using it and tried it on me, it didn’t phase me at all. Carlos, the above poster, is right, the guy holding the rubber guard doesn’t know what he’s doing so of course the counter is working. In real life against someone who know how to hold the position, forget about it.
Lazy, you’re at the Portland gym? I was meaning to stop by there when I was up there last month. I ended up just training with Impact BJJ since I was staying out in Tigard. I hear good things about that place. I’ll be back for a few days in November, I’ll try to make it out.
the guy on the bottom is using a weak version im not saying his de fense doesnt work i just dont know on who my daughter has a better rubber gaurd and she is 9
Yeah but, getting rid of things if very easy for some people, but harder for others. Why keep dealing with these items though each and every time you open up your closet?
