Yes, I say, please make more of these videos. Because, after the public watches a few videos of EDDIE teaching a specific technique, they want to watch the exact same tutorial taught by someone else. Oh, can you make one for the Twister????

  2. Ian says:

Umm.. I think sarcasm misses the point.

Eddie asks guys whom want certification to make vids teaching tenth planet techniques.
This is how they are both graded, and adjudicated (judged) for certification.

This is much more refreshing than those thinking they will impress someone by reinventing the system.
Keep it simple and show you know Eddie’s system. Period.

To many guys try to reinvent the system, and they don’t realize simple mistakes they are making.

If you are not qualified, just show you know the basics.
If you want to teach, show you know the system. Period!

BTW…Did you notice this is not filed under RGPD?

  3. Sarcastic Guy says:

BTW, did you notice I wasn’t criticizing his Rubber Guard?

Besides, I didn’t know that you can now be certified online by making videos. I love Eddie and 10th Planet….but the word “McDojo” now comes to mind. Sorry, someone had to say it.

  4. Ian says:

    Yikes!!

I would rather use the terms innovative, or contemporary than McDojo.

Just because, in a new global community, communication is done in new or unconventional ways it does not cheapen the brand or deny vigorous scrutiny. Even high stakes, corporate board meeting are sometimes done online through ‘video conferencing’.

The two ideas, online and quality (online somehow meaning lack of quality), are not synonymous, nor do they depend on each other.

My point, which you still missed, was there is a context to the video that you knew nothing about before your comment.

That’s why the video is a repeat of what Eddie does n his DVD. It is merely to demonstrate the teaching of tenth planet material. That was my *only* point.

    My 2c.

  5. Sarcastic Guy says:

Exactly when did I demonstrate that I didn’t understand your point?

“My point, which you still missed, was there is a context to the video that you knew nothing about before your comment. That’s why the video is a repeat of what Eddie does n his DVD. It is merely to demonstrate the teaching of tenth planet material. That was my *only* point.” – Ian

Yes, I believe I understood your *only* point after reading your first comment. That’s why I responded, “I didn’t know that you can now be certified online by making videos.” Which part did I “still miss?” The McDojo is merely my 2c.

NEW POINT: I am fully aware of video teleconferencing and I think it’s a great way to CONVERSE/COMMUNICATE, but I believe that teleconferencing to TRAIN for certification is a bit of a stretch….and therein lies our differences of opinion. Maybe that’s the part YOU miss.

I think instructional videos are wonderful. I learn a lot from them. But I don’t think people should be certified or belted from them. If that’s the case, we can expect 10thPJJ Purple Belts popping up sporadically….which will indeed cheapen the brand. Good day, sir.

    Yikes!!

    Ok, get over it.

This is how it works, and the reason for the vid.. nothing more, ok?

regardless of how people participate, Eddie’s belts are legit, and they prove it in competition, and in person.. ok?

I think they (Eddie’s) have a good handle on it, and have the capacity to avoid ‘cheapening the brand’, ok?

  7. Sarcastic Guy says:

Hey calm down. I don’t want no trouble man!

  8. Ian says:

    Yikes!!
