10th Planet Rubber Guard Counter: The Coat Hanger
September 3rd, 2008 In Techniques | 10 CommentsI’m not going to go too deep into this. I see too many glaring issues. This counter might work on a parallel universe’s rubber guard. It might even work on Robert Drysdale’s rubber guard. But, I’m not certain it would work quite as well against an opponent who performs rubber guard correctly though.
10th Planet Jiu Jitsu: Counter To The Lockdown
September 1st, 2008 In Techniques | 8 Comments
I found this counter on Mixedmartialarts.com, it’s from Straight Blast UK. The biggest beef I have is that when he grabs his leg to begin the counter, he has good posture. If the lockdown is being done correctly, you’ve stretched out your opponent, and taken away their base.
Another problem I can foresee is, when he breaks the lockdown, and tries to come back on top, it doesn’t seem like he can keep good control. This would cause a scramble and at that point it’s anybody’s game.Â
I do like the usage of sunglasses however.
